Designer Deck

Recently we have been asked to design a set of playing cards for one of our clients. At this stage of the project we can’t share what we are creating to an unusual brief but I can share some other wonderfully designed packs that we have found in the initial stages of research.

Architecture game cards

Pre-Modernism, Modernism, Post-Modernism and De-Structuralism are the four strong suits included in the pack, containing the top names of 20th century architecture.

Typography cards

The brief was to create a set of 52 cards using different fonts and no alterations of the font themselves.

Hopefully the weather this June will improve, but if not we can always stay in on a rainy day, play cards and appreciate the design.

For the love of stats

If you’re anything like me you’ll love a good set of statistics; beit website analytics, most-played on iTunes, geographical web links, anything…

So you’ll also be pleased to check out this new Stats site form Google

In their words ‘This Google resource brings together the latest industry facts and insights. These have been collected from a number of third party sources covering a range of topics from macroscopic economic and media trends to how consumer behaviour and technology are changing over time.’

There’s some really interesting stuff in their when you start digging, or for a quickfire stat session – just hit Random Statistic – enjoy!

The Race for Life

On Saturday 25th of June at Temple Newsam, Leeds, Maria and I will be taking part in the 5k Race for Life.

In 2009 my mum went for a routine breast screen where they discovered a lump. After a biopsy it was confirmed that my mum had breast cancer. If it wasn’t for the screening they probably wouldn’t have discovered it until it was much more advanced. Luckily they were able to remove it and after a course of radio therapy she was given the all clear. That was 18 months ago now and thankfully mum is fine, much to our relief.

There was nothing I could do to help my mum but this is the least I can do as a sort of thank you to all involved in the care of cancer patients and Cancer Research.

Just showing us some support would be fantastic. So some words of encouragement in the comment box would be great and it you would like to sponsor me just click Sponsor Melissa

What is the Race 4 Life

Race for Life is Cancer Research UK’s flagship event, with over 300 events taking place across the UK. Women coming together across the UK to walk, jog or run 5k or 10k is helping to beat cancer.

Where your money goes

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the last 40 years and our work has been at the heart of that progress. Cancer Research UK is entirely funded by the public so the support of people like you is absolutely vital.

Thank you for your support
