We're blowing our own trumpet...

But not above the legal noise limit!

We’re thrilled to be working with new client, Cirrus Research.

Cirrus Research plc is a world leading manufacturer and supplier of sound level meters, measuring sound across a wide range of applications to include occupational noise and environmental noise measurement.

Cirrus were looking for some fresh ideas to challenge current perception and re-position themselves as a modern, market leader through their newly launched Optimus sound level meters.

We immersed ourselves in the world of noise measurement and generated lots of ideas through various brainstorms/meetings in the kitchen/brainwaves late at night or driving to work etc.

Here’s the winning concept.

Our first project was to quickly roll the concept out through press ads and web banners leading up to the Safety and Health Expo in May, in celebration of Cirrus’ 40th birthday. It was great to see the ‘Hear the world in different colours’ concept in large format. Feedback was fantastic, with Cirrus celebrating the highest number of enquiries at an exhibition!

Since May we have been busy creating direct mail pieces for Cirrus UK and Germany. We wanted to create something useful that prospects would keep so came up with this handy pocket guide. These have been so successful that prospects have been calling Cirrus to request more!

Mari Kasurinen

While updating my Christmas shopping lists and looking for some different gift ideas online last night I discovered Mari Kasurinen. Mari says about herself and her art “Popular culture is my television. My art represents what I have seen so far. I was looking for a way to express myself concerning today’s materialism and individualism.”

These customised My Little Ponies really caught my eye and made me smile.

I hope these put a smile on your face too.

The Hobby Cake Decorators

A few months ago I wrote two posts about mine and Richard’s creative interests in photography outside of ICM. The Hobby Photographer, Richard and The Hobby Photographer, Melissa. Both posts show how we don’t switch the creativity off when we leave our desks and we can turn our hand to many different things.

A few weeks ago I decided that I would like to try and master cake decorating. I have always loved baking, so I thought, this is just the next step. So with decorating instruction book in hand (I love instructions and lists. If you have them, use them!) I sketched out my final design the evening before and made a detailed list, then took myself off to Sainsburys to purchase my required items. I evicted husband, toddler and all cats from the house so I could concentrate and 6 hours later, I was finished.

So, here is the result. I was quiet proud of myself to be honest. I will never be as good as a professional but not bad for a first proper go.

The baking bit

The roses

I made the roses and the chocolate leaves the night before.

The result

Louise

The best bit about this is that I inspired Louise to get baking and creative and I love the result.
