Today marks the anniversary of the death of one of my favourite artists, Henry Moore.
Living in Leeds, I see this beautiful sculpture outside Leeds Art Gallery at least once a week. The soft organic lines really stand out from the strong lines of the surrounding architecture.
After a recent visit to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park I got the opportunity to experience the work in totally different surroundings. The bronzes became part of the picturesque backgrounds and complemented the natural colours.
For me, the work of Henry Moore, is as much a part of Yorkshire as the Yorkshire moors themselves…
I am a cat owner, which is very different to a being a ‘Crazy Cat Lady’. I don’t usually appreciate general cat related gifts, nicknacks and general debris that features cute fussy images of kittens. Having said that I was given a book called Simon’s Cat which made me laugh out loud. The accuracy of the cat behaviour is uncanny. While reading it I found myself looking at my furry little friends with more suspicion than usual. How much of what they get up to is planned?

It’s wonderfully filmed, and these guys are unbelievable talented. Enjoy.
