Thinnovation

Ooh, there’s a ripple of excitement amongst the geekier member of ICM today.

Apple have released the new MacBook Air

Now don’t get me wrong, I like my macs and sexy gadgets. But if I’m spending a serious amount of cash on a laptop I at least want to know it’s in my bag!

Spend more and more to get less and less?! Where will it all end?

But it doesn't have a DVD player. I don't understand, surely this is a massive drawback.

But how often do you use your DVD player - I mean *really*...
I can't remember the last time I used mine, other than for watching a DVD or playing a CD - both of which Apple have covered with iTunes and Apple TV - or the new movie rentals from iTunes. If I want to transfer files I use email or a memory stick.
So you pretty much only need it for adding new software that you didn't buy over t'interweb.

That said, I'm still saving up for my MacBook Pro...
