Snap! Crackle! Pop!

I was reading a top quality magazine the other weekend and as I opened it this fell out.

My first response was to have a bit of a strop saying that Chris had bought me a second hand magazine. Then I looked at it closer and realised that it was actually a printed direct mail piece. Hummm, that’s quite clever I thought, I’ll keep it.

Visually, I don’t really like it and would have thrown it straight into the bin had I not been a bit of a nerd. I kept it though and for days after often thought of Rice Krispie cakes and how yummy they are.

I think if I had children I would probably have bought some and made some cakes. Think I might do it myself anyway actually…With my track record of baking these may be something I can successfully make.

Monday will be fine for you to bring cakes in - don't worry about 'not having children', there's plenty of mouths to feed in studio!

I watched someone on a train reading the top quality celebrity magazine you speak of and when the insert fell out they looked at it a bit confused and threw it to one side. Never looked at it again.

It is difficult for us to judge this kind of thing, because we are drawn to promotions from a professional viewpoint. But the absolute rejection of it made me think that it was pretty ineffective. Just a nice bit of creative.

That's what I meant Tash when I said 'I didn't throw it away because I am a bit of a nerd' - I actually meant 'I was drawn to it from a professional viewpoint'. Much more eloquent, thanks.

Perhaps I would write better if I took my nose out of trashy celebrity magazines once in a while...

Nah... a healthy dollup of realism - that's what you need in this industry. And we're all at the nerdy end of the geek scale I reckon...

Can I have silver balls in my rice crispy cake?

Maybe if you made them with Cadbury's chocolate they could feature in their next weird advert!

I can see it now - dancing Rice Krispie cakes singing Don't Stop by S Club 7!
