Roll over for the new retro food trend

So… who remembers the Arctic Roll then? School dinners, tea at your mate’s house, pudding when your mate came round for tea. It was a staple. Well apparently it disappeared about 10 years ago (who knew?), but now it’s making a comeback!

Brand Republic have a fuller version of the story but I thought it just too important to the dinner tables of our readers not to blog about it. Remember… you read it here first…

Arctic Roll disappering? Never. You could always get it in downmarket freezer shops, I'm sure.

Smells of a fancy PR stunt to me - it's the new Wispa maybe...?

Yeah I'm sure my gran's served this up recently. Although she does tend to buy things in bulk, but 10 years worth?? That would have been one hell of an Iceland shop!

Apparently R&R's Lyons Maid Arctic Roll only went on sale last month (RRP £1), so I'm with David on this one. I'm pretty sure 'own brand' versions never went away. But yay for Wispa!
