I feel good! (na na na na na na na)
Here are some ways that we can all feel good during the dreary month of January. I’ve listed below my favourites but there are more if you click here
1) Laugh!
If you can’t think of anything to laugh about then sign up for some free tickets to see comedians with SRO.
2) Be lovely to everyone
Carrying out random acts of kindness will make you feel all warm and fuzzy. You can get ideas from Random Acts of Kindness. Some of their ideas involve spending money, but most don’t. I think I’ll help a little old lady cross the road today in my lunch break. Although there’s a shortage of old ladies in Headingley, maybe I’ll teach a student how to cross the road…
You could also give people compliments! Check out Compliment Day if it’s been a while.
3) Volunteer to do something
This is great because you could learn something new and meet lots of interesting people too! I’m going to contact the Volunteer Centre in Leeds to see what I could do. I might even combine it with other things that I am going to do this year like make sure I don’t forget how to speak French and see more of the outside world. I wonder whether they need volunteers to teach French whilst roaming the Dales…
4) Give away your old things
Father Christmas bought us an ipod speaker thing for Christmas so we no longer need our CD player. I’m going to put it on Free Cycle. Someone else can have it for free which will be great for them wont it.
5) Have a chat
Give an old friend who you haven’t spoken to for yonks a call (this is defo not free but you could always do that thing where you let their mobile ring once and then they ring you back. This doesn’t really conform to point 2 though…).

This is lovely advice. This may help me regain my good humor which has been missing since yesterday morning when I took my Christmas decorations down. It took 3 hours!!!
