Useful little tools...

Google Trends is a great little tool for conducting some basic market research and competitor analysis. The functionality has been updated to allow users to compare websites (up to five at once) to indicate traffic volumes and search patterns. This gives you the ability to benchmark your own website against your competitors and gauge the level of online market share in your region, territory or marketplace. It also pinpoints major news articles and events with an instant link to the particular item – all very useful.
At first glance Google Trends doesn’t make the comparison function immediately apparent, however it does give users the tip regarding separating multiple search terms with commas; for example, if you were to type in Asda, Tesco, Morrisons – here are the results you would get
