Mario Testino
Mario Testino, a Peruvian fashion photographer who has been photographing supermodels, celebrities and even royalty for many years. His career began in London in 1976 and since then he has gone on to have his photography featured in Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair and V. He has done many campaigns for fashion houses such as Burberry, Gucci, Valentino and Versace and has had worldwide exhibitions dedicated to his work.

The colours on this shot stand out beautifully. Your eyes are focused on the stunning red dress, the lighting reflects the different shades of the red dress and the blue background compliments the dress as it is not too over-powering.

The Versace spring summer 09 collection was shot featuring Kate Moss and Gisele Bündchen, two of the many models that Testino has worked with. Others include Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford.
Testino claims that Kate Moss is his favourite supermodel to photograph and they have worked together for many years.

Testino photographed Diana Princess of Wales in 1997, five months before she tragically passed away. Testino was chosen to photograph her in her royal dresses before they were auction off for charity. The photographs show a happy, playful side to Diana with a beautiful smile that was no longer hidden under all her royal hats and jewellery. He originally did this shot for Diana’s Vanity Fair cover but placed all the pictures into a book celebrating the life of Diana.

This Dolly Mixture campaign was shot for British Vogue. The shot again works so well, it plays tricks on your mind and takes a few glances for you to realise which is the main shot and what is faded behind.
Testino’s website features much more of his work and you can see the wide range of work he has done over the years.
Vanity Fair have recently featured some of Testino’s work for the magazine on their website.
