man on a bicycle

it’s twenty past nine on thursday morning, and we look out the studio window to see something you don’t see everyday.

there’s a man on a bicycle taking some money out of the cashpoint across the road.

which would usually not even register, but for the fact it’s a young man, in a clarat and blue striped dressing gown (towelling, a classic look i think you’ll agree) on a fold up shopping bike from ikea. if it’s his mum reading this, it’s ok, he had socks on.

that was enough for one morning, but as he refastened his gown (probably a bit parky, although the woman accross the road didn’t look impressed, mind you it’s cold, if he was flashing it’s not going to do him any favours) and turned he also had a rather spiffing cravat!

if other people hadn’t seen it too i’d be checking myself in right now…

...and that was no ordinary bicycle!

It was an Ikea Employee folding bicycle - and if my calculations are correct - that's a long, cold ride to work from Headingley!

I wish we'd got a picture.
