Wills and Kate's Wedding Plates
On the 29th April Prince William and Kate Middleton finally tie the knot. For most of us it means an extra day off work, but for the crockery industry it could mean big business.
But it doesn’t have to all be tat:

These ‘unofficial’ Wills and Kate souvenir plates from KK Outlet have just gone on sale.
The Lord Chamberlain, Earl Peel, has already issued a formal memorandum indicating that tea towels should not be produced.
In 1981 I was 4 years old and my Grandma bought me a mug to commemorate the wedding of Charles and Diana. I still have it too. It is tacky, like most of the Royal memorbilia tat, but after almost 30 years I have grown very fond of it.
So I am measuring up for my set of plates now, ordering my bunting and hoisting the Union flag ready.
